I would like to inform you that we have updated our web site in two major
areas.

First, we had to close down our ordering center for a certain while, but we
are still taking orders by direct e-mail until our situation has stabilized
(My son is moving to Toronto for graduate studies and I will be out of town
for August and September, and the first half of October).
The other aspect will certainly interest you more, it is about programs. I
have added a new category : shareware/unregistered. You will find in it :
-HalfBuffer : creates "rectangular" buffers on the chosen side of
lines/plines. Many options such as width varying with values in a given
column.
-Plin2Reg : converts plines with attached names of the adjacent regions into
regions.
-Reg2Plin : converts regions into a set of unique border segments with the
names of bordering regions (as an option: names can be right/left according
to the line direction). Useful also for topology editing.
-Skimall : detects duplicate records on the basis of a search startegy
decided by user. Was before in the commercial section.
In the freeware section, I have added :
-LayScale : draw a scalebar/numeric scale for a frame in a layscale. 4
styles of bars, 3 of units. English or French. Various combinations and
relative positions.
A major expansion of the code provided by Jason Adam [[EMAIL PROTECTED]].
Original version was Scalebr3 available on the mapinfo-l ftp site.
-Gratic : draws ticks along the sides of a mapper with corresponding
latitude or longitude information. As an option, it can add cross-ticks in
the body of the map. Various display options. Works with all kinds of maps
(non-earth, lon-lat, projected). Graticule objects can be saved as a TABLE
or as part of a WORKSPACE
Developped from a code file offered by Steve Wallace [[EMAIL PROTECTED]]
and with his approval.
-Polynode : analyzes the topology of each node of a region table and detects
situations that could be responsible for later "Error overlaying objects".
Useful particularly for MI versions prior to 5.5
Was previously offered as a time stamped beta version
-Reg_rast : helps in the registration of raster images. Started with
AutoRegistration for Viewing Only (adaptation of Kevin Mahoney's
AUTO_R_M.MB), was amplified with
"Image pixel Size and Rectangular map Coordinates" (with contributions from
Dmitry Bogdanov) and Direct Mapper Window Registration.
-Resizmap : resizes a mapper to given dimensions or to the dimensions of a
given frame in a layout. Changes mapper scale if needed.
Inspired by Carol Agius [[EMAIL PROTECTED]], and with his approval.
-Windosiz : displays the actual dimensions of the active document window
(Map, Graph, Browser, Layout) and its maximum possible size (that of the
MapInfo window).
Simple upgrade of a previous version.
I hope that some of you will find there what he has been looking for so
