I have been using Mapnik to render tile images of roads and I am running into an interesting problem. I think know that Mapnik must have a solution to the problem, but I can't seem to find the right setting. The problem is that when I render two different tiles they could have highway shields show up at different locations. And in the worst case even on the edge of the image. I have tried to use the avoid_edge setting to address this, but with no luck. Also I have tried to use TileCache to render metatiles that are much larger and then cut these larger images up. Does anyone have suggestions to what I should be trying?
