How are you generating tiles, and in what png format for source and in  
the second rendering? png or png256?

Are you saying that you are using a custom plugin that you have written?

I have read in your image under Mapnik 0.7.0 on Mac OSX and cannot,  
replicate, it looks fine, when rendering to png and png256 formats.

What plugin? Do you mean, if you use the large PNG raster with the new  
0.7.0 windows binaries?

Could be a bug, but hard to say without more information.

Please attach your full XML stylesheet and give more information about  
which plugin you are using.
