Thanks, seems really easy.

I also compiled the viewer in 0.7.1. When I loaded the xml of "World
Population" example, nothing happened at all. Both display area and
layers/styles display nothing. The shp path has been set to the absolute
path to the TM_WORLD_BORDERS_SIMPL_0.3_MOD.shp. And the python program ran
successfully.
