bq. A lot of the changes are essentially whitespace and indentation reformats,
and those changes aren't necessary to fix the unit test behaviors. Do we really
need those changes as part of this patch?
IMO, this is an *ideal* patch to fix the checkstyle issues with, especially
since a) it's already a huge patch and b) it's patching code that isn't (last I
checked) in branch-2.
I'll do a rebase etc etc and post an updated version later tonight if I get a
chance.
