Regarding mailing list archives, that was a tough one and I worked on
that several days, in the end it was a permissions issue for the mailman
folder, and I was successful to get the archives working again (for
January).
Just another glimpse at all of the hard work behind the scenes (where
the funding never comes).

budget. I propose we submit a request for $5000 to help support the MapServer

Last year an upper-limit of $2,500 was set for projects, but this has typically
been $5,000 in previous years.
The development items are to help kick-start implementing OGC Maps API and try
to get MapServer 8 OGC certified. Additional funding sources will be sought to
try and get these items completed.
In terms of trying to raise additional funding:
- A proposal for a grant application was sent to NLnet Foundation
(https://nlnet.nl). We should know if this has been successful or not in early
February.
- Even also put in application last February to
https://nlnet.nl/bluehatsprize/2024/ (unfortunately without a successful
response).
- I emailed the user's mailing list with a link to the sponsorship page. It looks like
there was a problem with the mailing list archives, as December 2024 is missing from
https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/mapserver-users/. The email was sent on December 8th
with the title "MapServer Budget and Sponsorship" - so I'm not sure if anyone
received it.
I have added the funding request and fund-raising efforts to the 2025 budget
page at https://github.com/MapServer/MapServer/wiki/MapServer-2025-Budget
and propose to submit the budget to a vote, starting with my +1.
If we want to discuss further, we could maybe have a PSC meeting next Thursday
(23rd of January), prior to the OSGeo Board meeting the following Tuesday.
