Sorry, I haven't been really specific enough. It's probably because it's still
somwhat nebulous for me.

I am aware of the fact that Mapserver does allow SVG output. (Although
I haven't seen many applications doing it yet. Would be nice to have a SVG
gallery or so on the MMS site.)

I guess that for AJAX, it doesn't really matter if it's an image or vectors which are being displayed. But here, I am not too sure about it. With the
image it works (I have an example installed on my machine), but does
it work as well with SVG?

Did anyone give it already a try?

Thanks,

Stefan

Not sure what you want to know. They are three distinct technologies,
and yes, it is possible to hook them up together for one tasty treat.
I haven't done so, but the theory would be to have MapServer output
SVG (I believe it can already do so), and build an AJAX-enabled web
app that displays the output. Keep in mind that not all browsers might
be able to display SVG (Firefox is able to).

Hi there,

anybody out there who has experiences or knows about some work around SVG, AJAX and Mapserver? I have no idea if and how this works. Perhaps it's technically nonsense... I couldn't find anything on Google for it, so I
guess information is scarce...

Thanks for any hints,

Stefan
