If I understand the question correctly, Maptitude already thought of it too. There is
a very simple way in Maptitude to save thematic settings as defaults in the geographic
layer.
The procedure is:
1. Create the thematic settings the way you wish them to be; value range, color
gradiant, etc.
2. Once the theme is set to your liking choose from the [Tool] pull down menu ,
[Geographic File...] and select [Save Settings] at the bottom of the dialog box.
What this does is save the thematic settings you just created, as well as any legend
setting (Legend title, Theme Titles and labels, Font Setting...etc) to the geographic
file. The next time you open or add that geographic file to a map, the thematic
setting you originally set will be defaulted to that layer. This is a great feature
I've been using for years, because I do alot of work with gridded data sets.
I hope I understood the question correctly and was able to supply the correct answer
for you, if not...oh, well ;-).
Later on, all!
Viktor
