Thanks to Armando! (whose email to me I'm forwarding separately, minus the
attached file.)

There is no way in the universe I could've figured this out on my own. One
catch, though: Armondo's utility doesn't transfer data. To reduce the
burden on the one who kindly offerred this solution: is there anyone else
on this list with sufficient expertise to modify this so that I get to
keep street names, classes and block numbers in my new bike route layer?

(Goodness, this challenge has taken me by suprise. It's a matter of copy
and paste in MapInfo.)

Once we have this resolved, we'll upload the CopyLines add-in, and its
code to directionsmag.com.

(And hey, what if you want to transfer selected POINTS or POLYGONS to a
target layer?)
