I wonder if this could be set up to also include 5- and 6-color coloring.
4 colors are nice, truly! But sometimes 5 or 6 colors look a little nicer,
as long as they are fairly evenly distributed colors. (4-color maps often
look something like a checkerboard.)

Andrew Dressel tried something like this for MapInfo, years ago, and it
always made me think of Christmas: his utility alternated red and green
until it needed a third color, and so on.
