Are you bringing in data that is not already  within the scope of the 
color pattern.    Also I have found that when making a thematic map it 
appears to only uses the data that is within the window at that time.  
When zooming out or panning to another area the colors are not there.  
If the data you are looking at is a number set,  does the range to cover 
all the possibilities?   I would think that you would have to run the 
recalculate within the color theme wizard.  Of course I'm sure there is 
a way in GISDK to create a button to do this.
