Hi Pang,

Converting auto labels to manual is a neat one-time trick, but something you dont want to do every time you use your street layer to create a map.

I would suggest adding a new field in the dataview table, and calling it something like Label, or Street Label.  After creating the new field, highlight it, and select Edit-Fill.  Select the original field name containing the original street labels.  This will copy the street labels into the new Label field.  Now you are free to edit as you please, still use automatic labels (using the new "Label" field), and still keep your original street labels (in case you ever have to return to this naming convention or need a reference).

Hope this helps!
