Hi Phillip,
You may want to inlcude a new field (using 'DATAVIEW-->MODIFY
TABLE-->ADD FIELD) and add those objects you manually included before.
Now use this field for labelling them directly or indirectly (using
SELECTION SETS) and set them to appear only at desired scales. Now, if
the manual object is a figure it changes its size automatically when
you zoom in or out. But when its text you can right click on the text
object and go into the poperty window and -- you can set the text to
change with scale or keep it fixed (you cannot hide them though!).
