On the same label subject....Is there a reason that labels take precedence over actual features.  For example. With the roads labels on priority 9 (lowest) the labels will overlap point features that are not labled.  It makes point feature hard to read sometimes depending on the symbol type.  This is hard to understand as I would think that actual features should take priority over labels.  Is there a setting that I am not selecting somewhere?  Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Subject: [Maptitude] Auto labels settings

Does anyone know why unchecking the "Prevent Overlapping Labels" checkbox within a layer's setting affects labels in the entire map instead of only the layer or selection set in which the box was unchecked? For example, if I want labels to be able to overlap in my point layer, unchecking the "Prevent overlapping labels" box only in the point layer's labels settings will result in overlapping street name labels as well. ???
Thanks,
A J
