Thanks Peter,

This worked like a charm! And quite fast too! I had always try to use the merge function in a dataview but never had success because I did not have a numeric field (count in your example) to make it work. That tip is not listed in the help.

Thanks again, Cheers,

Reinaldo

My favorite method in Maptitude for creating a frequency analysis and, in
so doing, getting a list of the values in a field, is to:

- Create a formula field called Count with the value 1

- Choose Tools-Geographic Analysis-Merge by Value

- Choose the field to analyze from the Based On drop-down list

- Click Attributes, click Clear, highlight Count, check Add, and click OK

- Click OK, choose the folder, enter the file name, and click Save.

If you want a 2- or n-way frequency analysis, just create another formula
field that concatenates the fields (make sure they are all character, or
turned into character, fields and are of fixed length so they sort right)
and choose that field from the Based On drop-down list.

Peter
