I've encountered this problem, but haven't found the answer. A similar problem
occurs for me when using an area layer, and selecting a fill style other than
solid. If I try printing on an HP DesignJet 1055, the pattern fill will always
print out solid black. Happens only the the plotter, and is frustrating!
