Given the large number of addresses you have to clean, I'd suggest use of an outside service which could do the whole 100,000 name batch for (I believe) a couple of hundred dollars.
A number of providers can be found by a Google search on "address standardization verification" (without quotes). - Michael LaRue [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of calmaptitude Sent: Monday, February 04, 2008 2:38 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Maptitude] Address cleanup? Dear friends, I have maybe 100,000 addresses that need a decent cleanup and we have a lot of inconsistent address situations: There is a ZIP but the state is missing; Address1 is empty , Address2 has the address; Address1 is the apartment number and Address2 is the street address; Address 1 is a PO Box and Address2 is a street address; Address 1 and 2 are exactly the same; There are 6 or 7 digits in the ZIP Or there are three or four CA will have a 9123 so who knows what is missing. Does anyone have a suggestion? I think Maptitude does some standardization when it geocodes, but can I save the output? Does Maptitude 5.0 have any worthwhile improvements on this front? Do folks recommend other software? Thanks in advance.
