I am trying to do the following and wonder if someone has a solution. I need to overlay tracts over streets and I want to calculate strength length in order to derive at a "linear density measure."
For instance, those streets that are completely within an area would be assigned to the tract that is overlaid so that the length of the street is included. But where streets border the area, I need to obtain a length ½ of what the length is as the other ½ would be assigned to the area adjacent. Thanks for any suggestions.
