Thank you. Double-clicking on the theme settings took me exactly where I wanted 
to go. My last challenge is to find the most aesthetic way of showing other 
polygons together with the density grid, like county boundaries. All I know to 
do is change their fill to None and move them below the density grid layer in 
the Display Manager. Is that the best or only approach? Is there no 
transparency setting for the density grid? 

Thanks, ... I'm getting my feet wet with this and enjoying the learning process.
