Here's the message that Caliper tech support usually provides in this situation:
"If you're getting the "license not found" error, then, regrettably, there's no
choice but to re-install.
The most likely cause of this problem is your anti-virus software. The
Maptitude license data, which are squirreled away in several places, are
encrypted binary data files; an aggressive anti-virus program can mistake these
files as suspicious files and might delete them.
The remedy is to configure your anti-virus software to ignore, or "exempt", the
folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Caliper" on XP,
and on Windows Vista and Windows 7, the folder "C:\ProgramData\Caliper".
Alternately, if you use an automatic backup system such as Carbonite or Memeo,
these can behave in a similar fashion to that of the anti-virus
described above. The remedy is the same."
