It sounds like you want to change the default startup map. You can have the default be ANY map (or workspace) of your choosing. Try this:
1. Make a map with the layers, styles, and scope that you use the most and save it someplace safe (like C:\Program Files (x86)\Maptitude 2012\library\) where it can live as your "template" map. If you want to get fancier and have a map, a dataview, and a layout all ready, you can create all three and save the whole set as a workspace. 2. Select Edit... Preferences. 3. Click on the "System" tab. 4. About halfway down, you'll see "Initial Map or Workspace" and the file will say something like "InitialMap_nt.Map" in the file box. Click on the little box to the right of the filename, and navigate to select the template map (or workspace) you created in step 1. 5. Make certain that the "Display the Quick Start window in Startup" box is checked. 6. Click OK, and then restart Maptitude. 7. When you restart and are presented with the "Quick Start" menu, Select "Display the Initial Map or Workspace" and your new template map will open up. 8.
