Inbound Programs Assistant and
Liaison
 
The International Programs
Office seeks an Inbound Programs Assistant and Liaison.
 
The Inbound
Programs Assistant and Liaison reports directly to the International Programs
Officer. The duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  
1.      Assists the IPO Head in the preparation of
project proposals (for foreign students’ scholarships)
2.      Assists the IPO Head in the preparation and
monitoring of inbound programs budget (foreign students’ scholarship budget)
3.      Assists the IPO Head in the preparation of
year-end reports for partner organizations/ funding partners
4.      Manages the International
Students’/Visitor’s Desk
-          Provides
information regarding Miriam College, lodging, arrival and visa matters to
partner organizations (for scholars and exchange student) and visiting
individuals from abroad;
-          Arrange
airport transfers (for arriving foreign scholars, exchange students/
professors, foreign visitors; for departing foreign visitors)
-          Arrange
lodging accommodation (for foreign scholars, exchange students/ professors,
foreign visitors)
-          Provide
orientation regarding Miriam College and the Philippine (Basic Philippine
Culture, where to go, what to do, etc.)
-          Administrative
matters (Coordination with the Registrar’s Office and the Records Section
regarding application and registration, ID Application, Setting up of
appointment for formal introduction tor respective College Deans and
Chairpersons, etc.)
-          Maintain
work and study space for foreign students/visitors
5.      Acts as the Institutional Liaison to
different government agencies (i.e., Bureau of Immigration, National Bureau of
Quarantine, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Bureau of Investigation)
6.      Facilitates communication between foreign
students and their “home” academic units
7.      Monitors academic-related matters for
scholars (such as grades and standing accounts)
8.      Serves as cultural guide to Miriam
College-organized travels of foreign students/visitors
9.      Reports to the head of the International
Programs Office
 
The
candidate should have graduated a degree on Social Sciences.  S/He must
have an experience in dealing with government agencies (DFA, DOLE, Bureau of
Immigration, etc.) and competence to engage project planning, implementation
and assessment.  S/He must have good communication skills and proficient
in computer.
