As we noted last week when reports of Cablevision's interest originally surfaced, Cablevision brings none of the geographic synergies that a Time Warner Cable/Comcast deal would bring. Moreover, the combined Cablevision/Adelphia entity would still be only a mid-sized cable operator - too small to bet on transformational synergies from programming cost leverage. We believe it is likely that Cablevision's eagerness to insert itself into the Adelphia auction reflects the company's enthusiasm for the transformative potential of VoIP. Cablevision has had tremendous success with VoIP bundles in its home market, and we believe the product offers similar promise in other regions. But Cablevision brings little that another operator would not." --------------------------------------------------------------------- PrimeTime Players --------------------------------------------------------------------- Close Pts. + % Chg 52-Week BLS 26.61 - 0.08 - 0.30 % 24.46 - 28.96 CVC 26.85 - 0.98 - 3.52 % 16.13 - 31.64 CHTR 1.40 - 0.10 - 6.67 % 1.23 - 4.95 CMCSA 33.00 - 0.27 - 0.81 % 26.25 - 34.50 CSGS 16.30 0.10 0.62 % 14.02 - 21.215 DTV 14.49 0.09 0.63 % 14.21 - 18.81 DISH 28.81 - 0.19 - 0.66 % 26.95 - 34.91 GMSTE 4.46 0.02 0.45 % 3.97 - 7.06 GE 35.50 0.00 0.00 % 29.55 - 37.75 ICCI 11.89 - 0.04 - 0.34 % 7.83 - 12.10 IACI 22.60 - 0.22 - 0.96 % 19.16 - 34.62 L 10.38 0.02 0.19 % 8.33 - 11.45 LBTYA 41.09 - 0.39 - 0.94 % 28.60 - 47.70 MCCC 6.37 0.08 1.27 % 5.06 - 8.55 MSFT 24.67 0.20 0.82 % 23.82 - 30.20 MOT 14.94 - 0.09 - 0.60 % 13.83 - 20.89 MBND 1.27 - 0.02 - 1.55 % 0.96 - 2.70 NNDS 34.19 0.14 0.41 % 19.60 - 40.00 NWS 17.26 - 0.01 - 0.06 % 15.305 - 19.41 NXTL 29.00 0.13 0.45 % 21.18 - 30.50 OUTD 14.35 0.10 0.70 % 12.50 - 19.30 PAX 1.41 0.81 135.00 % 0.48 - 4.00 PIO 18.20 0.35 1.96 % 17.11 - 30.85 Q 3.78 - 0.08 - 2.07 % 2.56 - 4.86 SBC 23.91 0.04 0.17 % 22.98 - 27.29 SFA 28.18 0.00 0.00 % 24.61 - 36.50 SIRI 5.39 - 0.20 - 3.58 % 2.01 - 9.43 FON 23.22 - 0.02 - 0.09 % 16.83 - 25.80 TWX 17.56 - 0.16 - 0.90 % 15.41 - 19.90 TIVO 5.42 0.09 1.69 % 3.45 - 10.10 UCOMA 9.01 - 0.05 - 0.55 % 5.80 - 10.23 VZ 35.51 0.15 0.42 % 34.13 - 42.27 VIA 35.24 - 0.35 - 0.98 % 32.56 - 42.32 DIS 28.41 - 0.13 - 0.46 % 20.88 - 29.99 XMSR 30.23 - 1.07 - 3.42 % 20.35 - 40.89 ===================================================================== For all the industry critical news - see: The BRIDGE War Room - http://www.mbc-thebridge.com/research.cfm SkyREPORT - http://www.skyreport.com SkyRETAILER - http://www.skyretailer.com The BRIDGE - http://www.mbc-thebridge.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- -To modify your subscription to The Evening Bridge, visit http://www.mbc-thebridge.com/register.cfm We welcome your comments and suggestions.
