Craig Moffett of Bernstein Research said the deal is a win for Comcast, especially given that the cable operator can liquidate its Time Warner Cable stake in a tax-free swap if the purchase is completed. Tom Eagan of Oppenheimer and Co. said the Adelphia bid is in line with previous expectations and, as expected, the Comcast/Time Warner purchase proposal did not include a price increase despite a last-minute bid from Cablevision --- Motorola said it opened an applied research lab in Bangalore, India. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Weekend TV Highlights --------------------------------------------------------------------- ESPN has coverage of the NCAA men's ice hockey championship game in Columbus, Ohio, between Denver University and the University of North Dakota.
