William Kidd of Vintage Research on TiVo and its move to get content
stored on a DVR moved into a Windows Media Center device or new
Pocket PCs. "Today's announcement is especially meaningful in this
vein considering that the PDA market is burgeoning and seems ideal for
a video-centric product like TiVo's. That said, it will take time for TiVo to
build a base among the cross section of PDA-enabled, DVR users.
Immediate impact seems small. Long-term impact could be material.
TiVo needs to continue to forge relationships with cable providers in
order to reach the households that crave TiVo’s functionality."
