TOP STORY -- Michael Rigas, former COO of Adelphia Communications,
pleaded guilty today to signing a false statement, eliminating the need
for his retrial on securities fraud and bank fraud charges in a scandal
that forced the company into bankruptcy. Reports said the reduced
charge could carry a sentence of three years in jail. Rigas, 51, pleaded
guilty to making a false entry when signing off on company documents

Doug Shapiro of Banc of America Securities on reports that Cablevision
received a $700 million offer to buy its sports teams, the New York
Knicks and Rangers: "We think it is unlikely to result in a transaction.
Cablevision responded that it has no plans to sell the Knicks and the
Rangers 'and the inquiry does not look credible to us,' stated the MSO.
Moreover, the Dolan family, particularly Cablevision CEO and MSG
Chairman James Dolan, has historically appeared to show a particular
affinity toward the Sports assets."
