TOP STORY -- Cablevision Chair Charles Dolan said he agrees with FCC
Chairman Kevin Martin's assertion that the opportunity to purchase
programming 'a la carte' would be in the consumers' best interests. "We
do not believe that selling programming a la carte will be detrimental to
programmers or cable operators," he said in a release. "A la carte will
result in a more affordable service for all with more programming
options." For more on this story, see tomorrow's

BRIDGE Bonus
---------------------------------------------------------------------
>From this week's BRIDGE, on the multichannel future: "On the good
news side is customer satisfaction. As other studies have shown
recently, Griffin's research detected a distinct upward trend in the cable
satisfaction index. For example, in just a 12-month period, from 2004 to
2005, the percent of all cable subscribers describing themselves
as 'very satisfied' with their video provider rose from a little more than
38 percent to just over 40 percent. And for digital cable subs those
numbers went from slightly over 40 percent in 2004 to near 43 percent
in 2005." For more on The BRIDGE and to subscribe, visit:
