Our preliminary estimate is that an a la carte pricing model would reduce cable revenue and cash flow. The companies who are perhaps most affected by an a la carte approach are the cable networks, especially the genre-specific channels that currently enjoy distribution across all U.S. cable subscribers, such as BET, Nickelodeon and C-Span. These networks would likely raise rates for cable operators to make up for reduced distribution." --------------------------------------------------------------------- PrimeTime Players --------------------------------------------------------------------- Close Pts. + % Chg 52-Week BLS 27.26 - 0.36 - 1.30 % 24.32 - 28.96 CVC 23.66 - 0.57 - 2.35 % 19.93 - 33.90 CHTR 1.19 0.00 0.00 % 0.88 - 2.40 CMCSA 26.40 - 0.35 - 1.31 % 26.05 - 34.50 CSGS 24.03 0.34 1.44 % 15.74 - 24.76 DTV 13.19 - 0.22 - 1.64 % 13.33 - 17.01 DISCA 15.61 - 0.14 - 0.89 % 13.51 - 16.30 DISH 25.84 - 0.22 - 0.84 % 24.44 - 34.38 GMSTE 2.65 0.01 0.38 % 2.24 - 6.14 GE 35.72 - 0.21 - 0.58 % 32.67 - 37.75 ICCI 11.64 0.00 0.00 % 7.95 - 12.15 IACI 27.61 0.04 0.15 % 23.49 - 57.82 L 7.68 - 0.05 - 0.65 % 7.59 - 11.21 LBTYA 22.31 - 1.20 - 5.10 % 23.44 - 52.32 MCCC 5.21 - 0.02 - 0.38 % 4.75 - 7.59 MSFT 27.68 0.00 0.00 % 23.82 - 28.25 MOT 24.09 - 0.06 - 0.25 % 14.48 - 24.99 MBND 1.19 0.00 0.00 % 0.95 - 1.78 MWAV 0.59 0.11 22.92 % 0.40 - 2.07 NNDS 41.36 0.98 2.43 % 29.27 - 40.50 NWS 15.64 - 0.09 - 0.57 % 14.76 - 19.41 NXTLM.PK 540.00 0.00 0.00 % 5.00 - 617.24 OPTV 2.25 - 0.07 - 3.02 % 2.07 - 4.14 OUTD 15.99 - 0.19 - 1.17 % 12.50 - 17.49 PAX 0.95 - 0.02 - 2.06 % 0.37 - 2.15 Q 5.24 0.07 1.35 % 3.30 - 5.25 SBC 24.91 - 0.14 - 0.56 % 21.79 - 26.56 SFA 42.32 0.00 0.00 % 26.73 - 42.53 SIRI 7.15 0.03 0.42 % 4.42 - 9.43 STM 17.60 0.18 1.03 % 13.96 - 20.68 TWX 17.98 0.11 0.62 % 16.10 - 19.90 TIVO 5.38 0.20 3.86 % 3.45 - 7.75 VZ 31.98 - 0.17 - 0.53 % 29.13 - 42.21 VIA 33.48 - 0.52 - 1.53 % 30.02 - 39.26 DIS 24.93 - 0.15 - 0.60 % 22.89 - 29.99 XMSR 29.26 - 0.25 - 0.85 % 26.16 - 40.89 ===================================================================== For all the industry critical news - see: The BRIDGE War Room - http://www.mbc-thebridge.com/research.cfm SkyREPORT - http://www.skyreport.com SkyRETAILER - http://www.skyretailer.com The BRIDGE - http://www.mbc-thebridge.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- -To modify your subscription to The Evening Bridge, visit http://www.mbc-thebridge.com/register.cfm We welcome your comments and suggestions.
