--------------------------------------------------------------------- The Evening Bridge - February 24, 2006 --------------------------------------------------------------------- TOP STORY - The Communications Workers of America approached the Federal Communications Commission with its concerns about the pending takeover of Adelphia by Comcast and Time Warner Cable. The union and its President Larry Cohen, who met with officials at the Portals earlier this week, said the deal should have conditions, such as making regional sports programming the cable giants control available to all pay-TV competitors, and that exclusive agreements with RSNs be prohibited. The Adelphia transaction is awaiting FCC approval.
