Hi Mike, since this is an old story, so the Internet already provides some information on that - basically it is because of (historical) trademark reasons that prohibited the use of OpenOffice.org in Brazil.
Instead, it was called "BrOffice.org", now "BrOffice" (dropping the .org, as LibreOffice did).
