I was not talking about the versions on the LibreOffice web site.
It works great for my Ubuntu desktop. I have the Windows version on my
laptop. I see no differences in running either of them, though my
laptop is very slow due to all of the security software I need to
include with a Windows machine.
The "odd" part was referring to the fact that Ubuntu did not use the
standard OOo version in their repository, and even modified it somewhat
to fit their "needs" that made it "their" version. I had to uninstall
Ubuntu's OOo version to get the "better" and more "up-to-date" one from
the OOo site. Also the problem is the lag time Ubuntu has from the web
site's release of the update to the repository's version.
