It might be good if the middle-man/woman is experienced or interested in the 
relevant team so that they spot which are the most important and relevant 
issues.  But yes, that is a side issue.  Any translator would be very helpful 
imo.

In my view, those people have no need to know the language, but his/her
duties. Anyone else with language skills could act like a interpretor,
translating either e-mails and/or conference calls.
