It's very rare that we speak officially on behalf of the project.

forwarded to the people you see at
http://people.apache.org/committers-by-project.html#openoffice-pmc
Of course, on the OpenOffice mailing list you can find a lot of
experienced project members, not necessarily part of the PMC, that can
give you information and their personal point of view.
