When asking about Qt Project marketing priorities a clear feedback was the articulation of local groups.
Here we go: https://wiki.qt-project.org/Qt_local_groups DISCLAIMER: a year ago I was pushing from scratch the creation of Local MeeGo Networks. I don't need to tell you about the fate of the MeeGo project but I think most would agree that those local groups were one of th best things that happened to the MeeGo community. We took a *very* pragmatic and decentralized apprach, making it really easy to create a local group and make it grow as much as the corresponding local interest. A possibility of building regional networks existed wherever local groups were stronger. Autonomy and self-sustainability was encouraged, and the MeeGo project would try to help only when bigger / more complex demands would appear. I believe that we can follow the same principles and, in fact, recycle that MeeGo legacy wherever the local groups have an affinity with Qt and a willingness to meet further. Combine this with the rich and well articulated Qt community (from parts of the KDE project to dozens of companies in many countries and many independent contributors) and I believe we have not one but many winners. Please share your opinions about this model and, in any case, express your interest in having a Qt local group where your feet are right now. -- Quim _______________________________________________ Marketing mailing list [email protected] http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/marketing
