I am trying to get what I can done, it seems like anytime I start a new
project like this, something starts happening at work, and I lose all the
free time that I thought I was going to have.

I do not see anything wrong with doing what you are doing, I just wish we
had a little more feedback from a couple of the higher-ups. not sure if
they are okay with us just starting to organize ourselfs. As far as I know
there are about 5 people from the US that have shown some interest. It
would be nice to set up a US and Canada main contact so we can get going.

Hi James:

This is the first time that I have really involved myself this deeply with groups like these. I am also on the Mageia marketing group. From what I understand, if you feel that something should be done, then go ahead and do it. The group is trying to build itself on the principles of a meritocracy. In meritocracy, many of the expectations are build on the premise that if you are going to do anything, it has to be done in the interest of all. So you can create any project, as long as it is in the interest of the LibO group. If it merits any interest, then others will join you in the effort. So if you think that something should be done, if you think there is consensus from a few and if you think it will help organize, then you go ahead an do it.
