Hi,

The subject no one wants to have to deal with - money.

Early on there was talk about forming a legal entity in the US to
promote LibreOffice - I was asked to not pursue that discussion and in
the mailing list I said it would be best to table the discussion.

IMO the time to pick it up from the table is upon us.

A quick review of the mailing lists and I would say there is maybe 14
active folks from the US - not a lot, but enough.

Quite simply, there is no reason from anything I can see to expect any
real funding coming from TDF. Which begs the question - Where from then?

I would ask those on the list here to review the site http://ooodev.org
and ask questions about it if need be - what I propose is the formation
of a _similar_ organization in the US, or I should say, to be precise,
that it is a good point to see if this fits in with the desires of
others and if so, to begin discussing how to make it happen.

Comments?

Thanks much

Drew
