Thanks also. Are there many non-profit organizations in Europe? So far
it seems like the Italians, French and Germans are the most visible. I

Actually, I do not know if there is a not for profit in France, while I
know there is one in Switzerland. In many countries there is a group of
volunteers organized informally. UK is like US: OOo is nothing there.

In the Americas, it looks like Brazil is (as we know) quite successfully
organized. I don't believe that we have heard of any other in the
S.American market. As for the N./Central Americas, there is really
nothing as yet.

Countries speaking English and Spanish are those where OOo is weaker,
because the language based organization of the OOo community has not
been effective at all.

Thanks Italo.

Then it may be a good idea to provide a possible "not for profit" model on our marketing pages for groups interested in organising this way. At the very least, it would give them insight at how one would go about setting up structurally.

In your opinion, is it recommended to set up a not for profit LibO entity in different countries? Would this be better than not having any at all?

Marc
