All,

I am trying to establish a test environment for the new BioMart 0.6 on
my MacBook Pro.

I have apache 2 configured and running with Perl. I used fink to
download and install the various Perl modules required for BioMart. I
did need to add the lib path to all the Perl files so that the fink
modules were used. I also needed to comment out some of the overrides
and I added "User www" to the top of the httpd.conf file. These steps
were required for me to install BioMart and start apache.

The problem is that once apache begins (with no errors that I can find)
it does not serve any web pages other than "http://localhost/";. It will
not even display "http://localhost/index.html";. The error that I keep
receiving is "Unable to connect".

Has anyone successfully installed biomart on an Intel-based MacBook Pro?

Thanks,

Andrew
