Hi Rebecca,
Yes, you can do it using martservice. For an example go to
http://www.biomart.org/martservice.html
And click on 'retrieve configuration for a dataset'
Eg.
http://www.biomart.org/biomart/martservice?type=configuration&dataset=oanat
inus_gene_ensembl
Exportables and importables are at the top of this file.
In addition, if you have direct connection to the db you can use Meditor for
that purpose
