So much for the Israeli leftists: "Syrian Islamists calling themselves the Revolutionary Command Council
in Quneitra and the Golan, published a Facebook memorial to the victim who was killed in the attack ..."

Yes, thanks for this Joe. The Israeli leftists I referred to were wrong - no-one said they had absolute truth, just that this was some information they had heard from independent sources. Instead, the blood-drenched lynch mob only murdered a member of the Free Syrian Army, ie, the military forces of heroes who defected from the Syrian fascist regime's armed forces in order to not slaughter their brothers and sisters, and by these civilian brothers and sisters taking up arms to shoot back. The political and moral equivalent of those who similarly sacrificed their lives to fight various tyrannies which were but a paler shade of the one in Damascus, eg Somoza, Videla, Pinochet, Marcos, Mobutu etc - I guess only Suharto can claim more victims, perhaps.
The guy murdered, while the IDF watched as they pulled him from an ambulance, was FSA fighter Munthir Khalil from the Revolutionary Command Council in Quneitra and Golan, another name for the Military Council of Quneitra and Golan, from which Brigadier General Abdul-Ilah al-Bashir comes, who was last year appointed Chief of Staff of the Supreme Military Command of the FSA. The Military Council of Quneitra and Golan is also a member organisation of the FSA's Southern Front, which has a militantly anti-sectarian program, and which of course vigorously denounced Nusra's massacre of the 23 Druze up in Idlib (that event itself having precious little to do with Golan, regardless of Silverstein's crummy article). Moreover, as people who prefer to know something about the issue first before spouting essentialist "anti-Islamist" slander against the entire Syrian rebellion are aware, the Southern Front several months ago issued a declaration that there would be no further cooperation with Nusra at any level.
Clearly nothing to do with Nusra. But that of course was irrelevant to those who pounced on the issue to declare that, after all, "the Druze" (like these killers supposedly spoke on behalf of all "the Druze") had reason to be upset with Israel's imaginary "cooperation with Nusra", a fairy tale based entirely on (1) the fact that Israeli hospitals don't check for Nusra membership cards when they take wounded fighters and civilians into their hospitals, and (2) on what a number of writers, who have obviously never read the reports of the UN Observer force in the Golan region, claim, wrongly, to be in those reports (yes, I have read them).
At the end of the day, it is only one killing among 100s of 1000s, but it is more the intentions of people who clearly are leftists on other issues yet have a penchant for peddling crap on behalf of murderous capitalist tyrants that is beyond comprehension - oh well, no, it isn't actually.
Oh, and you've really got to love this Zionist crap in the Silverstein article you posted:
"Though an armistice line now separates the Druze in Syrian and Israeli-occupied zones, both communities are deeply intertwined. The sense of solidarity now, in the midst of a raging civil war, is no different than Diaspora Jews felt in 1967 before the war broke out. Millions rallied around the world concerned about Israel’s fate." Fitting.
