Rather than giving us your ideological reasons for opposing the posting of
such issues, Nestor-- or saying other issues must be debated first, why not
give us your analysis of what is going on in Vietnam with the turn towards
international investment and "market forces"?

Now you might say 1) you're too busy 2) it would be presumptious of you to
make such analysis of formerly colonized countries, but of course the
bourgeoisie are not too busy, and are not worried about such presumptious
behavior, so I would think it's an obligation to deal, concretely not
ideologically, with such trends from a revolutionary, Marxist position.

Alas to actually understand what is going on in Asia one really has to
examine information provided by "tainted sources," like the IMF, the World
Bank, the Asia Development Bank, even the US Dept. of Agriculture, the Hong
Kong Monetary Authority, as well as the "approved" sources like China's NBS
etc. etc. Life's tough, but there it is.

As for getting the inside scoop from General Giap, I don't think the list as
such can be charged with that responsibility, since the list as an entity
separate and apart from those around the world who contribute to it does not
exist. Same thing goes for the list's deficiencies in reporting on Asia--
although a number of comrades have provided excellent information on India,
Nepal, Indonesia.

Besides Nestor, the issue isn't what General Giap thinks or doesn't think.
The issue is what is actually taking place in the "concrete," as you like to
say.

So if you can't or won't dispute the facts as presented in the post, what's
the point of raising an objection?

Not just happy news allowed here, of course.

Almost all news coming from the US of Am are dismaying, for instance.
