Not bad.

Nasty little things like population growth and overrunning reproduction
rate of a close environment does not exist and consequently the external drive
- outside the body, for development is muted. No need for alienated forms
of labor and the emergence of the metabolic rift disappears. Perhaps the
culture needed another million years or so. Or a more developed plot. I am
going to see the movie because it sounds like fun.

WL.

It was great fun. I just got home from watching the movie and it was amazingly
fun.
Sure the plot was as formulaic as they come. In the first 5 minutes you know
exactly how the film will unfold and it offers no surprises in the story line.
The visual effects are fantastic. Not just the 3D but the whole other-worldly
experience offered. Pandora is both familiar and yet alien at the same time.
I really went in expecting to be bored and expecting it to be a second or third
rate affair. Like Titanic.
I was wrong. It was extremely entertaining.
Go to be entertained and you won't be disappointed. Go for some other reason
and you may or may not be disappointed.
I can't recall the last time I called a mainstream Hollywood film amazing fun
or fantastic entertainment but to me Avatar certainly was.
Maybe I'm mellowing with age?
