I have already expressed my opinion that we must do all we can to quicken the dialectics of disillusionment. There must be no defence of Obama, even if we are faced with the Palin led hordes. For me Obama reminds me of the whispy god like things that floated around the cinema when I went to see Avatar. At the ripe old age of 67, this was my first 3D experience and I found it enchanting. It was a change and I believed in them divine essences and there they were - so godlike and so palpable. Until that is I took off the glasses and they vanished back into two dimensions - and very inferior and blurry dimensions at that. It is true though that Obama himself will be the greatest single force in spreading disillusionment. None of us, for instancwe, on the Left could have dreamed up that pro-war speech he delivered as he was slipped the Nobel Peace Prize. The trick is to focus on the enemy - the capitalist class and the system they live off. I have been much heartened here by reading off the comedian Billy Connolly's performance in January. He summed up the future Prime minister of Britain - Cameron- with the very apt words "Fuck you, you Tory Bastard. regards Gary ________________________________________________ Send list submissions to: [email protected] Set your options at: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/mailman/options/marxism/archive%40mail-archive.com
