Eli is correct in response to Louis that the SF Demos and the other ones 
ANSWER participated in were in fact coalitions. There was a 'broad 
based' coalition...still mostly leftists...involved in the SF one, the 
only one I know anything about. This was not their intention, it was 
certainly open to anyone. Responsibilities were shared among the 
participants and, if anything, ANSWER seemed to play a very un-sectarian 
role.

Eli...how many do you think were at that rally? 3,000? 6,000? It was 
miserable and *smaller* than the last one ANSWER and others participated 
in last year. No one disputes this, not even the ANSWER members I talked 
with. It was the SF/Bay Area left community and not much more. You know 
this. It was not a mass action. If in 2003 we had 100,000 or more, 
now...less than 10% of that, way less, I consider this a *failure*.  In 
no way do I blame ANSWER or anyone else for this, the problems are 
deeper, and, more historically rooted. The coalition could only do what 
it could do. The anti-war movement is in a miserable state.
