I get to teach Marx once a year. The students who take the class tend to like Marxism quite a bit, but not enough to follow through over the long haul. One exception -- a student worked for more than 10 years on his paper on commodity fetishism. I enjoyed the final product. In the past, some of the faculty warned students against taking my classes, but most of the hostility has dissipated, probably because we have not hired any people from the US in 14 years -- instead our hires came from Pakistan, Armenia, Taiwan, & maybe Mexico for next year. I very much enjoyed the article Lou posted on Utah.
