Neither will the working people in the USA destroy the imperialistic nature of the beast from its belly, with the world population watching from the outside, nor will the workers and oppressed nations of the world defeat the USA, with the workers in the USA watching, but it was, is, and will be an intertwined process. The defeat of US imperialism against Vietnam was an example: it was the impossibility of a simple military defeat of the Vietnamese short of killing them all with a nuclear bomb, on the one hand, and the growing mobilisation within the USA and other imperialist countries against the onslaught on the Vietnamese which forced the US empire to back down, in order not to pay the physical destruction of a whole nation with a huge political defeat, possibly a socialist revolution.
