As I understand it, each of the groups made three proposals/ demands and that the planning committee would accept one from each group. The ISSE proposed: no cuts to education, nationalization of the banks and major corporations, and a break from the Democratic and Republican parties. The first demand had already been proposed by others, so the choice was left between the final two demands. The ISO and others at the meeting refused to include either of the other demands. Perhaps the demand that the major financial institutions and corporations to be nationalized and for the working class to organize itself independently of bourgeois parties is a revisionist betrayal of the working class. Perhaps there are alternative, more plausible explanations.
