I thought (perhaps incorrectly) that, in the preceding version of marxmail, there was a rule that the name of a subscriber could not be used in the subject line of a post. Is there such a rule now?

There was but that was during the flame wars of the last century. I wouldn't call it a rule now but it is a good idea not to do this since it tends to create a hostile environment because it most instances it is someone denouncing someone else. We don't need that.
