We're not only looking at BLM here but at the networks of its "allies" who have
played a major role in the demonstrations but, as far as we OK Boom ar ar ars
are concerned, seem to have come out of nowhere and to be both voiceless and
anonymous in their own right.  Are these the people who are burning the
libraries? I'd be surprised if it's BLM per se.

In any case, the whole riot-as-revolution philosophy IMO reflects the
discredited pseudo-Nietzschean "Dionysian" orgiastic philosophy of the Sixties
(cf Norman O. Brown), a dead end that--and just look at the careers of the pop
stars who were falsely supposed to have embodied this--led to the most massive
co-optation in the history of the American left. The resulting
commoditization/fetishization of "revolt" is now invoked to sell everything
from men's cologne to tennis shoes.

If people think that by burning stuff down or blowing shit up they are
demonstrating a degree of revolutionary purity that will protect them from
co-optation, they are treading a very well-worn road to hell.  They are merely
demonstrating a "bad boy" radical accelerationist version of consumerism, with
all its contempt for the thing consumed as a thing to be discarded. What will
ultimately obscure and corrupt the inner meaning of Black Lives Matter, IMO, is
exactly that.
