Andrew Stewart, I do think leftists have a lot to gain, by learning from parties of the left from the past ,be they the communist parties of the 1930s, or the Black Panther Party ,and adapting some of their tactics ,that worked, to America in the 21st century. Mutual aid ,and trying to build our party among the poor ,and working class, is a big part of what we in the PSL do. We also have alliances with communist and socialist parties all over the world. I don't see that among the Greens.
Do you not agree that the GP has a strong element of bourgeois ,boutique ,upper class, or upper middle class, elitism, that needs to be purged? The lack of any class conciousness ,and an internationalist vision, seems to be two of the biggest problems with the GP. I may be mistaken, but I don't believe many in the GP are completely dedicated to the eco-socialism the party professes. They are capitalists and reformists not revolutionaries. This makes them liberals, not socialists. My definition of eco-socialism does not mean making capitalism more sustainable ,it means pulling up the whole damned system of capitalism up by the roots, and replacing it with a whole new system, that is more equitable. One that stops further damage to the planet ,and tries to reverse the damage we have. This would include nationalization of industry ,and making alternative forms of energy more eco-friendly. I am sure you are aware, for example, of what goes into the mining of materials, in the global south, for the manufacture of solar panels. How solar panels, and wind turbines have a limited life span, and eventually end up in landfills. This is only one issue I have not heard the GP address. Are you saying there is no need for a party that is built upon the Marxist-Leninist model of Democratic Centralism? That there is no need for an openly communist/socialist party in the US ,in the 21st century ?
